Your career plays an important role in your life. Yes, it generates income and allows you to provide for yourself and others with regards to housing, clothing, food, traditional healthcare, etc... but your career, quite literally, is what you spend the majority of your time doing. If you are not happy with what you are spending your time doing, it spills over into other parts of your life. It is very important to do what makes you happy. Whether you need to find joy in your current career path or rethink and reroute your career path, there must be happiness in what you do. Your happiness can be a result of being able to provide for your family, enjoying the actual events and activity of your work (arguably, the best form of happiness), planning your retirement or any other positive reason that you can tie to your daily purpose. Only you can decide what makes you happy. It is never too late to make the decision to be happy. There will be pessimists along the way. You may even be the pessimist in your own life and not realize it. Becoming aware of the pessimists in your life is essential to your growth. You must believe in yourself. You must love yourself enough to know that you are worth the life that you want to live. It may not always be easy, but take it one step at a time. You have it in you to be happy.
